The First People of NC:

  • Name: Paleo Indians

  • Used Woolly Mammoths for the majority of their needs: meat,skin, bones, and tusks. They would use these to make tools and weapons.

  • They were nomadic (they move to follow their food source)

  • Atlatl: a tool for killing large animals

  • Once they started trading goods and building permanent villages, they did not have to keep following their food source.
