1. Person + whose + noun
• Cinderella helped an old woman whose carriage was broken.
(= The woman’s carriage was broken.)
• The prince met a girl whose kindness impressed everyone.
(= Everyone was impressed by the girl’s kindness.)
• They searched for a maiden whose foot fit the glass slipper.
(= The maiden’s foot fit the slipper.)

She wore a dress whose magic would disappear at midnight.
(= The dress’s magic would disappear at midnight.)The castle whose gates were guarded by soldiers was very large.
(= The castle’s gates were guarded.)

Use whose to connect two ideas:
Identify the owner (person or thing).
Identify the possession (noun).
Join the ideas using whose + noun.
