DEFINITION

  • THE OBJECTIVE OF THE RELATIVE PRONOUNS IS TO DESCRIBE NOUNS IN THE SENTENCE

  • RELATIVE PRONOUNS IS THE HEAD OF THE RELATIVE CLAUSES, EACH RELATIVE CLAUSE HAS A SUBJECT AND A VERB

  • THEY ARE RESPONSABLE FOR IDENTIFY AN OBJECT, A PERSON, A TIME PERIOD, ETC

  • USUALLY, THE RELATIVE CLAUSES GOES AFTER THE NOUN IT'S DESCRIBING

- THE RELATIVE PRONOUN "THAT" CAN BE USED TO REPLACE OTHER RELATIVE PRONOUNS, DEPENDING ON THE SENTENCE.
The cashier that I went to was very nice and gave me an extra discount.
This is the situation that I expected.

OBS: IN SPOKEN ENGLISH, THE RELATIVE PRONOUN "THAT" IS MORE COMMON BUT LESS FORMAL WHEN USED.
