Dramas are different

Imagine you are reading Hamlet - and then you have to write an essay. How do you write the dialogue AND how do you cite it?

How to set up drama in text evidence

If longer than 4 lines, you need to Block indent.
Captialize the characters' names with a period after them.

Long Quotes (4 or more lines)

Use slashes between lines.
"The queen your mother, in most great affliction of spirit/hath sent me to you."

Short Quotes (Less than 4 lines)

GUILDENSTERN. What my lord?
HAMLET. Make you a wholesome answer. My wit's diseased. But, sir, such answer as I can ake, you shall comman. Or, rather, as you say, my ere mother. Therefore no more but to the matter. My mother you say-
