  • Support teachers to deliver planned learning activities.

  • Assist students to engage, participate and build independence.

  • Promote inclusion, wellbeing and positive behaviour.

  • Work collaboratively as part of the classroom team.
    -ESWs do not replace teachers or lead curriculum or assessment.

  • Provide prompts, encouragement and clarification.

  • Support students with disability or additional needs.

  • Assist with resources, routines and classroom organisation.

  • Encourage peer interaction and student independence

  • Plan curriculum or lessons.

  • Set learning goals or assess students.

  • Make instructional or behavioural decisions independently.

  • Clear role boundaries support effective teamwork and better student outcomes.
