​Remembering our "Why"

1. Students First

• Speak calmly and kindly

• Stay neutral (no arguing, no power struggles)

• Remember: behavior is communication

2. Be Consistent

• Follow behavior plans and schedules

• Use the same words, visuals, and expectations

• If you’re unsure, ask for help, if overwhelmed, ask for help

3. Use AAC Every Day

• Model AAC during activities and routines

• Do not take away or block communication devices (unless student is BX is towards their device)

• All communication attempts count

Second Semester Expectations:

Our goal: Keep students safe, calm, and learning by being consistent and respectful.

4. Act Like a Team

• Be respectful to students and adults

• Talk about concerns privately, not in front of students

• Help each other during hard moments

5. Transitions & Behavior

• Give warnings before transitions

• Use visuals and routines

• Consistency is key

6. Keep Learning

• Mistakes happen — learn and move on

• Ask questions

• Support growth 

Bottom line: Being consistent matters more than being perfect.
