Expectations - Bullis

For people who don't follow classroom expectations and procedures, what will happen to them?

• Nothing, Ms. Bullis is busy.

• Depends on Ms. Bullis's mood.

• Discipline progression: Warning, stay after, detention, referral, same for all infractions and students.

• Equity isn't same as equality. Ms. Bullis will work with each student to help them succeed. But mostly use the discipline progression

During teacher time, what do I do when another student is answering/ asking a question?

• Listen by sitting up straight and looking at the person or teacher, even if you can't hear them

• Talk/ make sound/ whisper across the room to your friend

• Do whatever you want as long as you are quiet

• get up if you need to

During scholar time, if I need to sharpen your pencil, get a kleenex, drink of water, go to restroom what do I do?

• As long as Ms. Bullis is not talking, I can get up and do what I need to do.

• Raise my hand/pencil in the air and wave it until Ms. Bullis sees me.

• Raise my hand, and realize that Ms. Bullis might not let me go right away. Have pass for restroom.

• Call out "Mrs. Bullis" with your pass in my hand. She will let me go as soon as she sees me.

If I come to the classroom and Ms. Bullis is not in the room, but the door is unlocked, what do I do?

• Sit on the grass and hangout

• Wander to Mr. Martinez's room and say hello.

• Wait quietly on the pavement in a line, don't go in the room

• Bust into the room and sit down

What is one thing students should NOT do during scholar time GROUPS?

• Turn around an talk to other groups because you are done or bored

• Look at your evidence/ question before/ as you talk

• Talk in a quiet voice, and not laugh

• Only one person talks in a respectful way, while the others are looking at quietly

Scholar time sound includes "Speak with a Purpose". What does this mean?

• Say whatever you want even if it off topic to make the class laugh

• Only say something if it adds to the current topic or discussion. Don't shout out "funny" things.

• Ask any question, even if it is off topic. I need my questions answered right away.

• talk to the teacher if she looks at you, even if she didn't call on you

For scholar time thinking and looking, what should I bring to the classroom?

• Writing utencils, binder, paper

• Chromebook

• A good attitude, use GRIT, and give as close to 100% as I can for the day

• All of the above

How do I enter the classroom?

• Quietly, walk straight to desk, get out my agenda out BEFORE the bell rings.

• However I want, I'm mature enough to know what to do.

• It's okay to run in at the last second, as long as I am quiet.

• I can talk to all my friends as loud as I want to as long as I am getting out my agenda.

How should I finish my last task in the class period and exit the class?

• When I am done, I can put my things away when I want. Then I can leave when the bell rings.

• When I am done, I can talk and help my friends. I can get up and leave when I want.

• Ms. Bullis tells me when to finish. I can get up when I'm done packing up and wait by the door.

• Ms. Bullis will tell me when to pack up, then she excuses me from my seat.

When do I throw away trash?

• I can get up when I want to

• When I exit the room at the end of the period

• I should throw it at my friend

• I should throw it at the trash like it is a basketball
