A hungry mouse was on a farm. He saw the farmer spreading corn for the chickens. "Yummmm, corn would make a tasty breakfast," thought the mouse He looked around for the farmers cat but didn't see him. He quickly ran out to where the farmer was spreading the corn. He gobbled up a few pieces until his belly was full. Aa he was about to run away, he thought he would sneak more because it was just so yummy. He started to gather the corn in his hands. His pile was so high he could barely walk. ALl of a sudden, he saw the farmer's cat. He just wanted a few more pieces. He kept grabbing more pieces of corn until he thought he had enough. He saw the cat coming towards him, but couldn't get away fast enough because he had too much corn. THe cat caught him and ate him!

Mary was running through the living room when all of a sudden she ran into her mom's favorite vase. It fell to the floor and broke into pieces. When her mom got home, she asked Mary what happened. Mary considered telling her the dog did it, but instead she admitted what she had done. Her mom forgave her and was happy Mary had told her.

Courtney and Jessica were best friends. THey did everything together. THey also went to the same school. At school there as a group of popular girls who picked on others that were not in their group. Courtney and Jessica always hoped they would be able to join them at ththeir lunch table. ONe day, COurtney was asked to sit with them. SHe asked if Jessica could sit with them too. THe girls she Jessica could not. Courtney told them that she didn't want to sit with them if they weren't going to include Jessica. She didn't want Jessica to feel left out.

In his sopohomore year of high school, Michael JOrdan tried out for the varsity basketball team. But at five feet and eleven inches tall, the coach believed that Jordan was too short to play, so Jordan did not make the team. JOrdan didn't let this obstacle defeat him. In fact it pushed him to work even harder. He trained hard and grew another four inches the following summer. The next year he made the team and he went on to play professional basketball.
