What is the difference between a compound and series subject

• A compound subject names two subjects; a series subject names three or more subjects.
• A compound subject names 4 or more subjects; a series subject names one subject.
• A compound subject uses a predicate expander; a series subject does not use a predicate expander.

When you use a series subject, how do you separate the different subject naming words?
