The number of black panthers in the wild have decreased significantly for a number of reasons. Deforestation forces the creatures to find new areas to inhabit and hunt within. Panthers are often hunted by humans because the animal preys on their livestock. A number of countries have recently adopted “protection policies” in order to help the panther species survive.
