When is it okay to get out of your seat?

• During Direct Instruction

• During independent work time

• When the teacher is teaching

• During a Book Talk

What do you do if you have to go to the bathroom during independent work time?

• Get up and leave.

• Call out, "I need to go to the bathroom!"

• As for permission, put one ticket in the bucket, and start the timer.

• Ask permission and be gone for half the class.

When you need help what should you do?

• Find Mrs. Whitehead and hunt her down.

• Follow Mrs. Whitehead around the classroom until she notices you.

• Raise your hand quietly and wait until Mrs. Whitehead comes to you.

• Blurt out loud "Mrs. Whitehead I need your help" or "Can you come here"

What to do if you don't have a pencil?

• Sit and do nothing.

• Borrow one from the porcupine and throw it on the floor when you are finished.

• Steal your neighbors pencil.

• Borrow one from the porcupine and return it when you are finished.

When the teacher's phone rings what should you do?

• Students shout out to the teacher that the phone is ringing.

• continue talking when the teacher answers the phone

• Assigned student can answer the phone with permission from the teacher

• be silent so she can hear the other person on the phone.

When do you get your tag flipped on the behavior chart?

• For not following the "On Task Behaviors" that are posted on the wall.

• For listening to the teacher.

• For turning in your assignments late.

How do you enter the classroom?

• Come in quietly. Sit down at your desk and start your bellwork for the day. Read when finished.

• Come in talking. Go over to the corner and catch up with your friends.

• Going to a friends desk and stand there and talk until the teacher tells you to sit down.

• Come in and sit at your desk and wait.

How do you exit the classroom?

• stand up and run out of the room.

• Stand up push your chair in and run out of the room.

• Put all materials away, make sure to push your chair in, walk out of the classroom quietly.

• Put all materials away, push in your chair, wait for Mrs. Whitehead to excuse you.
