Nate is in the third grade. His class is learning how to write stories. His teacher asked each student to remember a time when he or she did a good thing and to write a story telling about that time. Nate planned his story and wrote his rough draft. Now he needs your help editing and revising it. Here is Nate’s rough draft. Read it and then answer questions 1–10.

(1) Yesterday, on January 15 2009, I felt very good because I did the right thing. (2) I went out to the bus stop to wait for the school bus. (3) It was early in the morning. (4) It felt like the most cold day of the year. (5) I was the first one to get to the bus stop. (6) The other kids got there after a while, and they ask me if I was going to cross the street. (7) I said, “No, we are not supposed to cross the street.” (8) They laughed at me, and then I felt embarrassed. (9) The other kids all walked across the street. (10) That is a dangerous thing to do. (11) It is really dangerous because you could get hit by a car. (12) Because is a very busy street! (13) We are supposed to wait for that our bus to come before we cross the street.
