Define ASSAULT AND BATTERY

• a combination of both verbal arguments and physical altercations

• the unlawful killing of a person with malice aforethought

• crimes against the person including assault, stalking, domestic violence and kidnapping.

Define CRIME

• crimes against the person including assault, stalking, domestic violence, and kidnapping

• a serious criminal offense punishable by a prison sentence of more than one year

• an act or failure to act that violates a law and for which a government has set a penalty

Define BILL OF RIGHTS

• The first 10 amendments of the United States Constitution

• All law that does not involve criminal matters, such as tort and contract law; relationships between parties

• Rights that a person must be told of when arrested or taken into custody by police or other officials

Define ARRAIGNMENT

• A court proceeding
