Main Idea

The rain began early in the morning. It fell as hard drops,

one after another. The skywas full of dark purple clouds.

Thunder began as a softrumble and became louder

and louder. Lightning crashedevery few minutes, making thesky a brilliant white.

• The farms needed the rain.
