Roro Jonggrang said,“if you want to marry me, you have to make a well and one thousand templesin one night”
Bandung Bondowoso agreed and started to make a well known as Jalatunda and made 1000 temples helped by genies.Worried that Bandung Bondowoso would finish them. Rorojonggrang ordered the girls to pound rice and burn stubbles in the east as sign that the morning had come.
Bandung Bondowoso stopped his job,but he felt that it was not morning yet. The total temple was only 999 temples.Bandung Bondowoso was getting mad, because Loro Jongrang didn’t appreciate his effort.
“You…. You Roro Jonggrang, there is only one temple left, let you be the one who complete it. And for the girls here, there would be no men who marry you” cursed Bandung Bondowoso angrily.Then Rorojonggrang was transformed to be a stone statue. And now the statue of Lorojonggrang is still in Candi Prambanan.
