What is an ADDEND?

What is an AREA MODEL?

• A numeric way way of representing mulitplication

• A pictorial way of representing division. The length and the width of a rectangle represent the dividend and divisor, and the area of the rectangle represent their quotient

• A tool using rows and columns to help show how multiplication can be shown as repeated addition and division can be shown as fair shares

Which is an example of Associative Property of Addition?

What does Associative Property of Multiplication mean?

• When three or more numbers are multiplied, the product is the same regardless of the grouping of the factors

• When three or more numbers are multiplied, they have to be in the same order or you will get different answers

• When three or more numbers are divided, the quotient will be the same no matter the order
