• I learned how to summarize my essay

• I learned that I need to end my essay with a brief account of the main points of my essay

What is the importance of the "I gained a new/greater understanding..." section?

• To show what exactly you gained a greater understanding of

What is an example how someone can gain a greater understanding through tutorials?

• Participation from other students in the group

• Dancing

• Working it out on the board and catching their mistake

IQ: Convert 13/20 into a decimal.

POC: Which number do I divide by?

• If I multiply both numbers by 5, then I get 65/100 and that's .65

• I learned that 13/20 is the same as 13 divided by 20

• The tutor taught me that if the denominator is a factor of 100 it would be easier, so I multiplied both numbers by 5 to get 65/100 which is .65

Why is it important that we connect learning to our previous learning, our self, or our world?

• Because I need to pass the STAAR test

• So that we can ponder how the world would be if we didn't know/learn about certain things

IQ: What causes the seasons?

POC: What would happen if the Earth was at more of a tilt?

What is the best "This learning is important because..." response?

• If the Earth were at more of a tilt the seasons would be much more extreme, and it might even be dangerous to live in some places.

• I need to know this for the STAAR test

• We're learning about this in class

• I was confused about this, but now I understand

If you can't think of anything meaningful about your POC, what should you do?

• Give up

• Write about how we accomplished something as a team
