A pair of linear equations has no solution if

• $\frac{a_1}{a\ _2}\ne\frac{b_1}{b_2}$

• $\frac{a_1}{a\ _2}=\frac{b_1}{b_2}$

• $\frac{a_1}{a\ _2}\ne\frac{b_1}{b_2}\ \ne\frac{c_1}{c_2}$

• $\frac{a_1}{a\ _2}=\frac{b_1}{b_2}\ne\frac{c_1}{c_2}$

A pair of linear equations has a unique solution if

•  $\frac{a_1}{a_2}=\frac{b_1}{b_2}=\frac{c_1}{c_2}$  

•  $\frac{a_1}{a_2}\ne\frac{b_1}{b_2}\ne\frac{c_1}{c_2}$  

•  $\frac{a_1}{a_2}\ne\frac{b_1}{b_2}=\frac{c_1}{c_2}$  

•  $\frac{a_1}{a_2}\ne\frac{b_1}{b_2}$  

In elimination method of solving a pair of linear equations

• we make the coefficients of both variables equal

• we make coefficients of one variable equal

• we do not make coefficients of variables equal

• none of above
