Plastic Pollution is a serious problem. Many times, the plastic is polluting the Ocean. There are ways to help like recycling, reusing plastic, and not using single-use plastic. However, I believe people should reduce the amount of single-use plastic they use. The first thing we can do is “refuse any single-use plastics that we don’t need” (Hutchinson 2). There are a lot of single-use plastics that we don’t need. For example, water bottles, plastic bags, food wrappings like sandwich bags, bubble wrap for packaging, and utensils like forks, spoons, knives, and cups. All these have alternatives or “alternative versions of those products” (Hutchinson 2). You can easily use a reusable water bottle like a hydroflask. You can use reusable grocery bags, paper bags, old newspaper, foam, metal utensils, and reusable cups. In 2015 alone, 448 million tons of plastic was produced around the world (Anastasia 1). By using alternatives, we’re already reducing the amount of single-use plastic being thrown out.
The main pollution problem is single-use plastic
The overuse of plastic is a huge problem
The earth needs us t use less plastic
There are ways for people to use less plastic

Excerpt from The Moon Princess by Edith Harrison
At last one distinguished-looking person strode forward, small of stature and ugly to look upon. His body was dwarfed, and he had a big hump on his back. His face was dark and glowering, and he wore a suit of yellow leaves. All the guests moved aside to let him pass, as though they feared him. He lived in the vast depths of the forest, amidst huge mountains; his daily work, with his thousands of imps, was to build those mountains big and high. Stone by stone he raised them, bleak and barren, to the clouds. He limped as he walked, and he glared angrily at the shrinking faces avoiding him; but he gave his invitation to the fair guests, as the others had done, and bowed low before them as he gave it.
The appearance of the man who builds mountains
The invitation of the man who builds mountains
How people are afraid of the man who builds mountains
The hard work by the man who builds mountains
