Why do we need to know kitchen safety?

• so we do not get hurt

• so we know how to follow the directions safely

• because we need to pass our test before we can cook together

• all of these reasons

What is the very FIRST thing we do after entering the kitchen?

• touch our hair

• touch our face

• wash our hands with soap and water

• touch our clothes

How do we wash our hands?

• we scrub the soap on our hands for 20 seconds, then rinse

• we pump 10 pumps of soap into our hands

• we wash our hands with no soap

• we rinse the soap off of our hands without scrubbing

Why do we need to wash our hands?

• we want to spread germs everywhere

• we do not want to spread any germs

What can we touch while we are cooking?

• our face

• our clothes

• our hair

• the materials (when instructed)

When can we eat and put food in our mouth?

• while we are getting out the ingredients

• after we are done cooking, while we are walking to our seat

• after we are done cooking and sitting down

• while we are cooking

What do we do if an ingredient falls on the floor?

• throw away what fell on the floor

• throw away all of our ingredients and start cooking over

• put that ingredient back on the table to use later

• eat what fell on the floor

What do we do if a cooking material falls on the floor?

• throw away what fell on the floor

• get a new, clean material to replace the one that fell

• put that material back on the table to use later

• put the material in the basket to be washed later

What should you do if a liquid spills on the floor?

• ignore it and hope no one sees it

• clean it up and then immediately start cooking again

• play slip and slide on it like ice

• clean it up and then wash your hands before cooking again

What should you do if glass breaks?

• you clean it up immediately

• immediately ask an adult to help clean it up

• tell your friend to clean it up

• ignore the glass and continue cooking
