Muscular System

Without the muscular system, I would not be able to:

• produce new life

• transport oxygen and nutrients to the body

• regulate growth

• provide voluntary movement

Without the muscular system, I would also not be able to:

• serve as a barrier to the sun's UV rays

• produce heat and energy for the body

• regulate growth

• form framework for body's muscles, fat, skin

The muscular system helps me to:

• producing vitamin D

• allow the body to react to the environment

• maintain posture by holding the body erect

• storing calcium

All muscles have certain properties or characterisitics:

• excitability, elasticity, contractibility, extensibility

• elasticity, elegy, contracture, muscle tone

• cardiac, visceral, smooth and skeletal

• adduction, abduction, flexion and extension

There are three kinds of muscles:

• heart, lung and kidney
