Why need to measure using ruler during valve gland packing tightening activity?

• To measure size of valve

• To confirm direction of rotation

• To make sure valve tighten evenly

• To measure tool that going to use

Below need to be done during valve stroking check EXCEPT;

• Identify correct tag number between site and control room

• Verify valve size with control room

• Verify & record as found valve position

• Operate the valve by giving open/close command

Why need to close valve before perform fitting tightening?

• To ensure no process upset

• To ensure the nearest transmitter or gauge are healthy

• To prevent fitting damage

• To avoid high pressure from process line

What is the purpose of equalizing valve?

• To even pressure at high and low side

• To block high side process

• To block low side process
