How does the sacrament of reconciliation/confession bring us closer to God?

• It clears our sins away so that there is nothing blocking our relationship with God.

• It shows our humility before God because we have come to confess our sins to Him. This means that we are totally open to God and His healing power and his mercy.

• It shows that we have trust in God because we are opening ourselves to Him and this brings us closer to God.

Why is the Bible important for Christians?

• The Holy Spirit has inspired the writing of the bible.

• It contains the Ten Commandments, which are rules directly from God to help us work out what is wrong and right.

• It shows what God is like through His words and actions e.g. the Creation shows that God is powerful and good.
