Surah Fathiha

’al ḥamdu lil-lāhi rab-bi l-‘ālamīn

• All praise is for Allah—Lord of all worlds

• All praise is for Allah—Lord of the earth

• All Praises to Allah

ar raḥmāni r-raḥīm

• the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

• the most merciful, most compassionate

• The most forgiving

Maliki yawmi d-dīn

• Master of the Day of Judgement

• Leader of the Day of Judgment

• Judge of the last day

iy-yāka na‘budu wa’iy-yāka nasta‘īn

• You ˹alone˺ we worship and You ˹alone˺ we ask for help.

• You alone we ask for help and you alone we worship

• We worship Allah and ask him for help in our prayers

ihdinā ṣ-ṣirāṭ al-mustaqīm

• Guide us along the Straight Path

• take us to the right path

• There is a straight path

Ṣirāṭa l-lazīna ’an‘amta ‘alayhim Ghayril maghḍūbi ‘alayhim walā ḍ-ḍāl-līn(a)

• the Path of those You have blessed—not those You are displeased with, or those who are astray

• Don't guide us to the path of those that went the wrong way

• Guide us to the path of the prophet not the path of the disbelievers.
