What causes Min to laugh out loudly with Tree-ear?

When Min's wife asks Tree-ear to call her 'Ajima' his eyes fill with tears. Why?

• It is a term of great affection and showed that they were 'kin' or family.

• It means that he will not be seeing her again after this trip.
