1st Kings 11&12

Meditation verse for the book of first kings chapters 11&12:

In chapter 11 we learn how King Solomon turned to idol-worship. God’s warned Solomon but he didn't listen, So God stirs up adversaries to chastise Solomon and the prophet Ahijah prophesies the division of the kingdom.

In chapter 12 we learn about tearing up the kingdom after Rehoboam Solomon's son rejected the counsel of the wise elders.

In chapter 11 verse 4 we read about King Solomon, his ungodly wives (in the old times they used to have more than one wife) turned his heart far away from God. We should be careful when we choose our friends too, because the bible teaches us that ungodly friends corrupt our good morals and make us far away from God.
