Clean Water Act 1972

• established the National Park Service (NPS), an agency of the U.S. Department of the Interior. 
• U.S. federal law that regulates the discharge of pollutants into the nation's surface waters, including lakes, rivers, streams, wetlands, and coastal areas. Passed in 1972 and amended in 1977 and 1987, the Clean Water Actwas originally 
• legislation that grants public access to documents or other data in the possession of a government agency or public authority, unless the information falls into a category that is specifically excluded from the terms of the legislation.

Endangered Species Act 1973 

• created the National Wilderness Preservation System and recognized wilderness as “an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain.

Kyoto Protocol

• international treaty designed to protect the ozone layer by phasing out the production of numerous substances that are responsible for ozone depletion.
• nternational treaty that allows a trademark owner to seek registration in any of the countries that have joined the Madrid Protocol
