MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION

Card Issue is a Campus Card application that
Source of all student, employee, alumni, affilation information
Can be used to verify ID
Establishes the current relationship to CU
All of the options
Answer explanation
CardIssue can be used for all of these things, as well as issuing new magstripe and barcode credentials to a patron. By re-issuing, the magstripe and barcode on the previous card will no longer work. Important Note: Smart Card credentials are updated when the card PRINTS. Check that happened by refreshing AdminWeb. You can also check to ensure Smart Card (tap) credentials have been applied to the card itself by opening Notepad and tapping on the card on your EV2/Upass. If notepad reads the smart card number, credentials are confirmed.

A employee of C&W request a campus card. Where in Card issue would you look to determine if they are eligible for a CUID?
Staff Info
Affliate Info

Ask Fran
Answer explanation
Understand what an affliliate is: https://carleton.ca/campuscard/cu-faq/who-can-get-a-campus-card/.
Card Issue will provide credentials in priority order: student, staff, alumni, and affiliate. An affiliate is the last option if nothing else will fit. Examples of patrons who will need affiliate status (if they are not alums): Non-CU employees: 1. Janitorial and Aramark staff are employed by a company (third party) that CU contracts with. 2. Visiting Scholars and Grant funded employees are paid by grants or scholarships. Casual Staff: are not provided with a staff card initially. Refer to Carleton Central so they can verify their eligibility.
