Active and Reactive Monitoring

Measuring health and safety performance is different to the measurement of other aspects of an organisations performance for two reasons.

What are they?

(a)   monitor the effectiveness of workplace precautions, RCSs and management arrangements, and provide leading indicators of performance.

(a)   Reactive Systems monitor accidents, ill health, incidents and other evidence of deficient health and safety performance.
