Continuous Tense

We use past continuous tense for the 1st event that is already happening.

We use past tense for the 2nd event that happened during the 1st event.

E.g. While sally was eating (1st event), she saw Sam (2nd event).

E.g. Sally saw Sam (2nd event) while she was eating (1st event).

While 1st event (​ ​ (a)   ), 2nd event (​ (b)   .

2nd Event (​ (c)   ) while 1st event (​ ​ (d)   ).
