Academic Integrity

Kelly and Sean have been partnered together for a speed lab. Sean rolls the car down the ramp and Kelly records the data. The class ends before Sean can copy the data. Later that night, he asks Kelly to send a picture of her data so he can copy it into his data table.

Mia and Javier are lab partners. During lab, Javier completes all the post lab questions while Mia completes her Algebra 1 homework. That night Mia asks Javier to send a picture of his answers. He does and she copies them down.

Jason and Amy take the temperature of a beaker of ice water as it is heated to boiling. They didn’t follow directions and forget to take readings for the first 5 minutes. They estimate what the numbers should be to fill in the missing data.

Susan was absent during a lab. When she returns, she obtains the data collected by the class. At home that night, she uses the data to complete the calculations, graph and conclusion questions on her own.

While taking a test Joe needs more room to write out his work so he takes out a piece of scrap paper. When he turns in his test, he keeps the scrap paper. He later shows it to his friend Sam who was absent on test day.

Students can bring a notecard to the test but may only write the equations copied exactly as shown from the teacher’s review. Claire has difficulty algebraically rearranging equations so she adds the other forms of each equation to her card.

Sal wrote a paper on global warming for his biology class. When he has to write a paper for his environmental science class, he prints out another copy of his biology paper and submits it to his environmental teacher.
