What is the Constitution?

• Where you go vote.

• The Oath of Citizenship.

• Where the basic rules in Canada can be found.

• Where you go to become a citizen.

Majority Rule

• Everyone needs to agree to make a decision

• Dictator makes the decision for the citizens

• Decisions are determined by 50% or more of the votes recorded

Values

• Facts about an event

• Principles about how people should act

• Decide on an answer

Society

• A group of people who have the same interest or culture

• the name for a town or a city

• A club to belong to

Citizen

• a person elected by a local government

• people or groups who work together

• A person who works for the government

• A resident of a particular place who has certain rights in that place

A service government provides

• Shelter

• Police

• Food

• Shopping Centers

A service government does not provide

• Courts of Law

• Schools

• hospitals

• Homes for all citizens

A right or freedom the government protects

• Your job

• Freedom of religion

• Your post-secondary education costs
