To create a POD, you

• watch for cars

• check your rear-view mirror, check your side mirror, and look over your shoulder

• make an imaginary line between yourself and the intersection

When executing a POD, you have two options. Choose both of the correct options.

• Option 1A: You don't reach the imaginary line before the light turns yellow and you stop

• Option 2B: you look left, right, left, right, check your mirrors, look over your shoulder, and determine if it's safe.

• Option 2A: If you reach your POD before the light turns yellow, continue through the intersection while looking left, right, left, right.

• Option 1B: Continue through the intersection while looking left, right, left, right, even though the light turns yellow.

You have to do two things to identify a stale green light. You must:

• Aim high in steering

• Get the big picture

• Keep your eyes moving

• Make sure they see you
