Zoos are bad because they kill extra animals. An example of this happened  in 2014 at the Copenhagen Zoo when they killed a giraffe, Marius, because they couldn't use him for breeding. This is wrong because you shouldn't kill animals just because they aren't considered useful.

Zoo animals are both mistreated and unhappy. The British Broadcasting Company (BBC) has reported that around 3,000 to 5,000 animals are killed each year in zoos in Europe. Many more animals show signs of zoochosis, a psychological disorder in zoo animals that leads to pacing, bar biting, and other obsessive behaviors. This evidence shows that animals in zoos are being hurt.
