Why do scientists practice science?

• So they can work independently and put their names on multiple inventions and/ discoveries.

• So they can look really cool in a lab coat and mix different chemicals together.

• So they can work with others to design solutions to problems that affect multitudes of people.

• So they can create new technology for doctors and engineers.

Can students be scientists?

• ABSOLUTELY!

Why should scientists find solutions to problems?

• Because that is the job they signed up for when they became a scientist.

• Because part of discovering new information is determining ways to use that new information to better our communities.

• They shouldn't. They should just keep making new discoveries because that is what is most important.

Why are we trying to create solutions to the problems we identified in our communities?
