2. Why was the Spiritual life in the American colonies very low?

• Because there were not enough Churches or preachers in the American colonies.

• Because they came from England.

• Because people were dedicating more time to their jobs than anything, they wanted to be rich, and started to have a lot of new bussineses, and started to forget about going to Church and reading the Bible to their families, but still all of them were baptized.

• Because the preachers lacked a burden for souls and power in preaching and talked of an unknown, unfelt Christ (even they were not converted) and the children and grandchildren of the first believers were too often unconverted but baptized church members.

3. What happened when he decided he would not receive as new members persons who had not given evidence of salvation, nor would permit unconverted people to come to the Lord’s table?

• Most of the other church leaders support him, so he continued as a pastor, and continued to win the lost, send out missionaries, and train ministers who were true to the faith.

• After years of debate and discussions, he was removed from being a pastor. So he went to Massachusetts, to minister as a missionary to the Indians.
