Students listen to grammar structures in context, for example, in a conversation. Then the teacher uses repetition to have students learn the language. The teacher makes students use different words with the grammar structure they are repeating in order to learn the language.

The teacher present the language in context. Then students practice the language in a controlled way before producing the language in a freer way.

The students are given a task such as organizing the Christmas school party. To carry on the task students have to communicate in the target language. After the task has been completed the students and teacher analyze the language used and learn from correcting mistakes and language used.

Students sing a song, " Head and shoulders, knees and toes. " They touch the correct part of their body as they sing the song.
