Constructive Criticism

Constructive criticism can be considered a tool used by managers to

• help you learn and improve yourself.

• hurt you and make you feel bad.

• punish you for not doing a good job.

In order to succeed at school and work, one must

• ignore all types of criticism.

• learn to properly accept and evaluate constructive criticism.

• always accept destructive criticism.

Accepting constructive criticism from

your boss, teachers, parents, or friends means that you

• become angry and defensive.

• make excuses and argue.

• listen and have a positive attitude.

• All of the above.

When receiving constructive criticism, it is best to

• ignore it.

• learn from it so you can become a better employee.

• pretend you are listening or make excuses.

To learn from constructive criticism, it is

important to

• not take it as a personal attack.

• step back and listen to the words

  being said and look at the behavior or

  action being criticized

• choose to fix what is being criticized.

After you have received criticism from

your boss/teacher/parent/friend it is wise to

• thank the boss/teacher/parent/friend for the advice and try to change.

• act defensive and get upset.

• talk back to your boss/teacher/parent/friend and tell him/her you think they are wrong.

After you receive constructive criticism,

show your boss that you

  seriously.

• don’t care and didn’t listen.

• can’t accept criticism.

When it comes to destructive criticism it
