Colonists were told they could not move west of the Appalachian Mountains, took place after the French and Indian War ended, Appalachian Mountains became the western boundary placed on the colonists by Great Britain,British sent more troops into the colonies to monitor the colonists, growing tension over Great Britain ruling colonies from 3,000 miles away.

British Parliament against the thirteen colonies, printed materials required a stamp to be placed on them and a tax paid on the imported materials, Britain was in debt, and Colonists felt it was not their debt to pay, which Led to the formation of the Stamp Act Congress.

Gage went to Parliament asking for help supporting the British Soldiers still in the colonies that had fought in the French and Indian War, he asked specifically for places to house soldiers (quarters) and food and supplies (provisions) during peacetime from the colonists they protected.

Colonists had to open their business and public buildings, some colonies like New York refused and were punished, eventually all the colonies but Pennsylvania refused to follow the act, Colonists felts it violated their right.

Colonists harassed a British soldier on duty, other soldiers came to help, colonists threw ice balls, fight broke out between the two sides, Boston, Massachusetts, Five colonists died from the incident, the soldiers were arrested and taken into custody, went on trial, some small punishments, caused even more tension, Colonists used this as propaganda to spread anger towards the British, the term massacre is an inflated word for five deaths.

East India Tea Company, East India Tea Company sold straight to their officials in the colonies and held a monopoly on tea, Caused “tea parties” to occur as colonists revolted against the act.

Sam Adams/ Sons of Liberty, Angry colonists dressed as Native Americans boarded the ships and dumped 90,000 pounds of tea (342 chests) in the harbor to protest the British passing of the Tea Act, Boston Harbor on three ships owned by the East India Tea Company, British government passed the Intolerable Acts aimed at punishing Boston for the Tea Party and sending a message to the rest of the colonies to behave, led to the formation of the First Continental Congress.

12 of the 13 colonies, Georgia did not attend, The delegates discussed the growing problems with King George III and British Parliament, reached out to England asking for them to repeal acts against the colonists, planned to boycott British goods until their demands were met, (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), Delegates decided to let the declarations play out and meet again in May 1775 to discuss what happened over the next 6 months.
