· Pile weave velvet would be most appropriate for a furnishing cushion. It is soft and has a luxurious feel which provides interest and texture to decorate a room. The pile weave enhances the softness and tactile nature that a cushion may have. It does not have good resiliency but as it is a cushion it is mainly for aesthetic purposes rather than for its resilience.

OR
Sketches in general terms ONE advantage of a warp knit fabric for the end use.
1
Suggested answers may include:
It is advantageous to use a warp knit fabric in swimwear due to the high level of stretch and a lower level of dimensional stability in the fabric due to the yarns interloping horizontally – much more stretch then a warp knit. A high level of stretch means that the swimwear can hug the body causing less drag and weight for the swimmer whilst moving.
Fully fashioned items can be created using circular weft knitting which can be advantageous to lower the amount of seams in the garment. This is especially useful in performance swimwear as it reduces drag because it is smoother and also is less likely to cause friction and irritation to the skin whilst being highly active.
