Vision: Our vision at Hanshew is to empower students to advocate respectfully for themselves and become connected community members.

Line up with their class, walk to their designated spot on the field across the parking lot and stay in their lines with their teacher.

Students are NOT able to use their cell phones or electronic devices (including air pods) in the hallways, multipurpose room, or any other school areas during school hours.

Cell phones are allowed at Hanshew

The Hanshew Vision Statement is:

Our vision at Hanshew is to empower students to advocate respectfully for themselves and become connected community members.

Our vision at Hanshew is 20/20.

Our vision is situated in South Anchorage at the foot of the Chugach Mountains and is attended by more than 800 students in grades 6-8.

Which is NOT part of the Hanshew dress code:

Hoodies, long-sleeve and t-shirts with the Hanshew Hawks logo.

Headgear/Head coverings of any kind is prohibited unless worn for a medical, cultural, and/or religious expression. Exceptions will be considered for spirit weeks, special celebrations, and other concerns.

Clothing that is too revealing, too small, see-through or sagging, exposed midriffs, low-cut tops or sides, strapless, spaghetti straps, no tank-tops, short-shorts, short skirts (more than 2 inches above the top of a knee cap), or any combination of shorts and leggings, short skirt and leggings, short dress and leggings.

Clothing that is too large, baggy, or bulky. Examples include: oversize jeans, oversize shirts. Pants that are too big to stay up above the hipbones without a belt are too baggy.

Outerwear (coats, heavy jackets, heavy vests, hats, ball caps, sunglasses) must be stored in the lockers.
