Patients medically unstable MOST COMPLEX

If a patient goes from CVICCU, ICCU, --> to CVICU & ICU

• Bad

• Okay

If patient goes from Med/Surg --> to ICU

• Medically they are not doing as well, you can't see them until new orders. There has been a huge change (BAD)

• Patient is getting better, no need PTOR, no new orders, just go see them (GOOD)

If patient goes from Med/Surg ---> to ICCU

• You can't see the patient. Need new orders (Bad)

• Patient is getting better, no need PTOR, no orders. Just go see the patient. (Good)

If patient goes to ICU ---> to ICCU

• Patient is doing better. No need of PTOR. No orders, just go see the patient. (Good)

• You still can't see the patient. Need new orders (Bad)

Let's say that you have a patient who is in ICU and ICCU and they go -----> to Med/Surg

• They are fantastic! (Good)

• You still can't see them. Need new orders. (Bad)
