Chapter 5, Nehemiah, stood against the attacks of enemies abroad and kept them from destroying one another. The complaint which the poor made to Nehemiah of the great hardships which the rich forced them to borrow money. Nehemiah rebuked the nobles and rulers not to burden the poor and set them into compassion and tenderness towards them
Chapter 6, The building of the wall goes forward, although their enemies were designing ways to stop the work, appointing false prophets and rumors that Jews plan to rebel, rebuild the wall and that Nehemiah be their king. These are the struggles between the church and its enemies, but great is God's cause, and it will be prosperous and victorious.
