What is a good example of an outfit for a student-teacher completing their observations?

• A modest dress that covers the shoulders and reaches the knee.

• A complete suit with tie and dress shoes.

• A Y2K style midriff baby t-shirt with a red leather miniskirt and platform shoes.

• A polo shirt, slacks/khaki pants, dress shoes

When in the classroom, the student-teacher should...

• Offer to help every time the teacher looks confused or surprised

• Sit in the seat designated by the teacher and take notes

• Take notes on the class, teacher, and only help when asked by the teacher

• Sit near the students and ask them questions about the assignment

• Do your research on the campus you are going to visit. Look at their website, find out contact information for the teacher you will visit, etc.

• Always bring a sweater or light sweatshirt (no hood). Some classrooms get very chilly and this can make some people sleepy.

  Know what route you will need to take, how long it will take you, and what time you will need to set your alarm for the morning.

• Visit your local thrift store to find good and cheap business casual clothes for your observations (and future job interviews!)
