Safety Data Sheets

A safety data sheet is there to:

• Prevent injuries in the workplace

• supply both workers and managers with all the information they need to know about any chemicals that they are working with or are used at the business.

• supply both suppliers and retailers with all the hazards they need to know about any chemicals that they are working with or are for sale

• SDS

The SDS should be in:

• A secure locked filing cabinet so it doesn't get lost

• The business owners office

• A readily accessible place where all staff using a chemical have access to the information

• A plastic envelope near where the chemicals are stored or used.
