Meditation verse for the Book of Esther Chapter 1&2:
This book is talking about how God cares for His people in captivity, even when they might be away from Him, and also can change the evil for the good of His children, especially when they pray, and cry out to Him.
Chapter 1: is talking about King Ahasuerus and his wife queen Vashti, their life in Shushan the citadel, the feasts they had for all the people and separate one for the women.
Also, we read about what king Ahasuerus decided to do with queen Vashti when she disobeyed the king's order after he asked her to address and show up in front of the people and the officials to see her beauty.
Chapter 2: in this chapter, we read about how the king will choose the new queen to be his wife. This chapter introduces Mordecai to us, where he is from and why he lives in Shushan, the capital of the kingdom of Persia. We are also introduced to his cousin and told why he is raising her.
We will read about God's plan to have Hadassah (Esther) attend the king's feast to pick the new queen. We also read how she was very special, finds favor in the eyes of everyone who sees her, and that she didn't reveal anything about her people.
Mordecai heard two of the king's servants planning to lay hands on the king. He told Esther who informed the king, and the king was saved from the plan of his evil servants. All these events are recorded in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Persia.
