Meditation Verse for Book of Esther Chapter 11&12:
In Chapter 11, Here we see the same dream that Mordecai had. God has always used dreams as a means of speaking to people (Joseph/ Nebuchadnezzar/ Pharaoh/ Daniel/ Joseph)
A number of captives = those who were taken captive, and did not return to Judah with those who returned from captivity. Because of their success, their neighbors envied them. Here we see Mordecai's success in the king's palace.
The nation of the just = the Jewish people. They were the only people who knew God at that time, in the midst of a pagan global atmosphere that did not know God.
Voices, confusion and thunder = Haman’s plot to annihilate the people.
the humble were exalted = the weak, simple, captive Jews.
In Chapter 12: Here we see the details of the plot hatched by Bagthan and Teresh (Esther 2:21-23). Haman was angry when Mordecai revealed this plot and crucified the two men. Which led some commentators to say that the original plotter was Haman, and these two men were his men.
Complete the verse: “Deliver me, O Lord, from the ______ men; ______ me from the violent men”. ( Psalm 140:1)
