Up to Speed

Example: I need to get up to speed in Digital broadcasting.

Big Picture

Example: When Jack was asking about the test date and how many questions were going to be on it, his teacher told him to think more about the content and the big picture.

Ball is in your court

Example: Jack said, “Will I be getting any Christmas presents this year?” and Mom said “The ball is in your court.”

Cut to the chase

Example: The sales person said “This a new airplane it has retractable landing gears, beds, restrooms sinks and more.” and Jack said “cut to the chase! how much is it?”

On the same page

Example:  I had to talk to my family about sleeping over for Christmas so that everyone was on the same page.

In it for the long haul

Example: Jake and Mel are in it for the long haul because they are married.

Change of pace

Example: Going bowling on my birthday was a nice change of pace because I usually go to Joses.

Out of a limb

Example: I went out on a limb when I spent on all of my money on a plane ticket.

Example: Cleaning the theaters is not rocket science.
