The topic I will be looking at is marketing from Ben and Jerry’s. So how good is Ben and Jerry’s marketing? Ben and Jerry knew each other from 7th grade. They both went to Pennsylvania State University and took an ice cream making course. The year after they finished their course at University they borrowed $4,000 to complete the $12,000 needed to set up were they were established in Burlington, Vermont USA. Their first shop opened in a petrol station in Burlington. The shop sold Ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbet. Ben and Jerrys are owned by Unilever but it has independent board directors. The CEO of the company is Jostien Solheim. Ben and Jerry’s have 10 board members they are Jeff Furman, Pierre Ferrari, Jennifer Henderson, Jostein Solheim, Terry Mollner, Anuradha Mittal, Kees Van Der Graaf, Helen Jones, Daryn Dodson and Annie Leonard. Ben and Jerry’s sells ice cream all over the world in 71 different countries. They have 15 different flavours of ice cream and only a select few same flavours for their non-dairy ice cream.
