• Umm... I can think of televisions, fridges, air conditioners, vacuums, dishwashing machines, ummm... ah washing machines, ummm.. and hair dryers

• There are some appliances we just can't live without, like refrigerators, washing machines and cookers. Every family has at least one of these and they really come in handy because nowadays we all need help with household chores. If it takes us 30 minutes to wash the dishes by hand, it only takes the dishwashing machine 15 and we don’t have to touch the greasy and dirty dishes. Since these machines are so common these days, they are now quite affordable.

Do you think modern technology makes people lazier?

• Yeah sure. Why not? People shouldn't use modern technology. It's unsafe and money-wasting.

• Modern technology is something many people are dreaming of. Nowadays, thanks to the advanced science, many high-tech items have been invented in order to please technology enthusiasts.

• Yes, I do, but only for a few people. Home appliances help us with almost all the household chores we can think of, from cooking to cleaning. But that is the reason why they were invented in the first place, to make our lives easier. While some people just let the machine do the job and relax, many make use of that time for doing other more meaningful things. So I'd say modern technology is beneficial and saves us time doing things that can be done automatically, and it only makes us lazier if we are too dependent on it.

• Yes, of course. Modern technology makes people lazier because it is so modern. Many people rely on it too much and become lazy. My brother is an example. He never does house chores. He always lets the machines do his job, even for his homework. That's why he always gets low marks. My mom is so mad at him. So, I think modern technology is not good.

Which form of vehicle is more popular in your country, cars or motorcycles?

• Motorcycles. Vietnamese people love traveling by motorcycle because it is convenient and time-saving. At least everyone owns one motorcycle in my country. But sometimes some people ride loud motorcycles, which annoys everyone else around.

• Motorcycles are most popular in Vietnam because they are a very convenient option for commuting. A motorcycle offers more flexibility as you can park it anywhere in the city. You can't do that with a car as most of the streets in this city are very narrow. However, motorcycles are not suitable for a long-distance trip. On those occasions, people would have to rely on buses or cars.

Do you think air pollution comes mostly from vehicles?

• Yes, absolutely. People should use more vehicles because they help people commute easily. Compared to the past, people have saved a great amount of time on traveling thanks to transportation.

• Well, air pollution is an alarming problem nowadays. It's caused serious diseases related to our breathing systems. Many people died because of lung cancer. People should do more exercise and become more aware of protecting their health.

• No, they are not the main culprit. They certainly deteriorate the air quality due to their emissions and we need to cut down on the use of automobiles wherever possible. But I think a lot of air pollution comes from industrial activities, things like factories pollute the air more heavily. You can see all the dark smoke coming out of them all the time.

How are the transportation systems in urban areas and rural areas different?

• Well, the transportation in urban areas is more modern, whereas in rural areas people still use basic vehicles.

• The transportation systems based in urban areas are definitely more modern than in rural areas. You can see a wider range of vehicles in cities. There are even subway stations that can move quickly. The airports in these places are also bigger and include a lot of cutting-edge facilities.

• There are some clear differences. More people are residing in urban areas so the transport system there is more sophisticated, which allows people to access different parts of the city more easily and faster. On the other hand, rural areas are more sparsely populated so the transport in such areas is not very modern. People who live in the countryside normally ride a bike or just walk to their destination.
